The popularization of the Internet began new ways of doing old things. And today, virtually everything can be gotten from the internet.
Then came social media in the early 2000’s. It started as just some fun thing and it’s now a multi million dollar venture.
We’re in the computer age and only those who have moved along with the internet and relegated the old ways of doing things to the background are making it.
That is exactly the point Shatta Wale tried hitting when he put up a post on his Facebook wall. According to the award winning dancehall artiste, social media spreads news way faster and farther, hence if you still rely on TV and Radio promos as an artiste, your not ready for business.
Shatta Wale stated that back in the days, promoting songs on TV and Radio used to work, but it doesn’t work today in a world that social media has taken over.
He was of the view that radio and TV promotion for an artiste is a “CHOICE” today.
