Vociferous National Communications Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Sammy Gyamfi has pleaded with President of the Republic, Nana Akufo-Addo to temper justice with mercy for the release of Akuapem Poloo.
The Ghanaian actress and socialite in June 2020 shared a naked picture of herself and her only son to mark her birthday which received a lot of public backlash.
Child Rights International sued the video vixen for publishing the uncouth photo after which an Accra Circuit Court sentenced Poloo to a 90 days imprisonment.
It is in lieu of this that Sammy Gyamfi, a critic of Nana Akufo-Addo has pleaded with the first gentleman of the land to show mercy to Rosemond Brown aka Akuapem Poloo.
He explained that, Poloo is a first time offender who pleaded guilty to all three charges and showed remorse to the court for publishing an obscene material, child abuse, and misdemeanour.
“The sentence given to @IamAkuapemPoloo is very harsh and high-handed. Given the fact that she is a first offender, pleaded guilty and showed remorse, non-custodial sentence would have been appropriate. Sad! I pray @NAkufoAddo remits her sentence or pardons her. #FreeAkuapemPoloo,” Sammy Gyamfi posted on Facebook.
However, Akuapem Poloo in a new video has asked for prayers from her fans and Ghanaians to remember her in prayers as she face the most difficult moment of her life.
