This Facebook post by Sarkodie [click here to read] clearly confirms what I predicted some months ago.
When Sarkodie released his “My Advice” track, I was one of the very few people who believed that it was all a stunt to help publicize the “Reign Album” launch, strictly for promotion purposes. To be sincere, I doubted it was “real” because at the time of releasing his “Advice” song, it was barely 72 hours to the “Reign Album” Concert.
I then asked myself why he didn’t release the song weeks before the Reign album, because Shatta Wale began his attacks on him (Sarkodie) around the beginning of the year. But he (Sarkodie) rather decided to release the song some days before the concert. And voila, it worked to perfection because it added some hype to the “Reign album” launch. It was actually planned very well and it worked for Shatta Wale; he had a sold out concert.
Again, Sarkodie is hosting his “Rapperholic” Concert in four days and all of a sudden, Shatta Wale comes out to begin unprovoked attacks on Sarkodie. If you followed my write up carefully, you should get where I am coming from. Shatta Wale is also hyping Sarkodie through these attacks.
For me, what Sarkodie did was strictly business; to hype the Reign album launch concert and Shatta Wale is paying his dues by doing his part to also hype Sarkodie’s Rapperholic Concert.
Let me add this; don’t be surprised to see Sarkodie perform a song from Shatta Wale’s camp on his 2018 Rapperholic stage, that is if Shatta Wale doesn’t make an appearance. And trust me, after the Rapperholic Concert, you will see these two best friends come back together.
I would Advice anyone who is taking these episodes at heart to calm down and watch the two heavyweights in Ghana’s music industry do their thing because it’s showbiz.
