Dancehall artists Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale who recently made peace are set to appear at the Adjabeng District Court today, June 20, 2019; following their scuffle at the recent 20th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
The two men were charged with Breaches of Peace charge, contrary to Section 2017 (1) of the Criminal and other Offences Act 1960 (ACT 29).
Stonebwoy was also given an additional charge of display of a weapon in public space without permission contrary to Section 7 (1) and 26 (1) (a) of Arms and Ammunition Act-1972 (NRCD.9).
According to a statement signed by DSP Effia Tenge (Head of Public Affairs), the two Dancehall artistes pleaded not guilty to the charges and were granted bail in sum of GH¢ 50,000 with one surety each.
The statement added that the court has advised the two musicians to be of good behaviour during the period the case is before the court.
It will be recalled that the two have since apologized to all stakeholders and fans for all that took place on that fateful day. This was during their Peace Conference which was held on the 4th of June, 2019. They also used the Peace Conference to announce the settlement of their differences. They have promised their fans that they will be of good behavior moving forward; they also solicited for their support on the peace journey.
