Charles Nii Armah Mensah popularly known as Shatta Wale has announced that he will no longer be part of Ghana’s biggest music awards scheme, the Vodafon Ghana Music Awards.
According to Shatta Wale, he has taken this decision after a broader consultation, and feels the time is right for him to bow out of the awards scheme.
Shatta Wale, together with his militants stormed the stage during the 20th edition of the VGMAs whilst his fiercest competitor and fellow dancehall act, Stonebwoy was about to deliver a speech on stage after being Awarded the “Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year” for the fifth time running.
His presence on stage turned violent as Stonebwoy then pulled a gun.
The two dancehall artistes are currently standing trial for disturbing public peace.
