The 1 Don and his Shatta Movement fans are on the streets dirtying themselves over a decision by Shatta Wale to introduce a coordinator for his Tuesday market, who is charging the fans to promote their businesses on Shatta Wale’s social media handles.
Charles Nii-Armah Mensah introduced the idea in less than a year ago to help promote the businesses of his fans who have fought every army in Ghana to make Shatta Movement as strong as an institution in the country and beyond.
Shatta Wale assured his fans that the platform is a way of showing appreciation to the enormous support they’ve given him throughout his career making him arguably the biggest artiste in Ghana for the last six years upon his return from the 10 years hiatus.
However, after a few months of chalking some successes on the Tuesday market, the Shatta Movement boss has introduced one ”Slay Queen” as a coordinator to charge 300 cedis for a day Ad, 750 for three days and 1,800 for a week.
The exorbitant fees have been welcomed with strong opposition from patrons of the market who in their own words believe Shatta Wale has shown gross ungratefulness to his fans and a stab in their backs by the 1 Don.
Meanwhile, Shatta Wale will still have none of their complaints as he took to Facebook to explain their whole idea and seized the opportunities to denigrate them for registering their dissatisfaction over the new fees.
Below is a full text of Shatta Wale’s response and screenshots of the complaints from the fans.
