StarTimes promises better TV coverage on Sunday’s Super Clash


Media rights holders for the Ghana Premier League (GPL), StarTimes, has promised to combine two production teams to produce quality coverage for the matchday 14 outstanding game between Kumasi Asante Kotoko and their bitterest rival, Accra Hearts of Oak on Sunday 28th February 2021 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Head of Marketing for StarTimes, Mrs Akorfa Banson Speaking on Kumasi-based radio Station, Kesben FM, mentioned that they have increased resources for the second production team so all angles will be captured for football fans to watch on Sunday.

“We have merged two production teams to produce quality coverage. However, Drones and cameras will be deployed at all angles in Accra Sports Stadium to capture every scene in the game. Yes we have agreed, we couldn’capture some angles in some of the previous games, replays didn’t go well and we have taken note of all these”, she noted.

She also mentioned that they have made resources available for the second production team and the angles will be captured since they have joined two production teams together, if they split each production they will deliver and every scene will be captured on HD for viewers to watch.

However, the super clash will be played behind closed doors due to the directives given Ghana Football Association. The Football in a statement noted that the decision is to spare them enough time to put in place remedial measures to make the various stadia safe for fans and consumers of football in a bid to help the government in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
