Stop begging for ‘village’ VGMA award – fan jabs Shatta Wale

Shatta Wale agreed to be part of this year’s VGMAs after a meeting with the CEO, Theresa Ayoade.

It will be recalled that Shatta boycotted the awards since 2013 after he lost out on the ‘Best Dancehall artiste’ to female dancehall act, Khaki; an award he felt belonged to him. He then threatened to take court action against Charterhouse if he is nominated for any future awards.

He has been nominated in 9 categories and there’s no doubt that he’ll bag some awards.

However, his approach towards the awards show seems to suggest that the self acclaimed dancehall king is so desperate for awards.

The “Island” hitmaker took to Facebook to share Vodafon airtime, in a bid to get his fans to vote for him to win some awards.

And an annoying “Bhim Native” with name Djibril Gyasi responded with a picture of Stonebwoy’s recent ‘Favorite African Star’ award he won at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards. He wrote “Wale stop begging for village awards cheap artiste”.
