Veteran actor, Mac Jordan Amartey has been laid to rest at the Osu Cemetery amidst a very low turnout at his funeral, held at the Forecourt of the State house in Accra.
The final funeral rites which took place on Saturday 8th September, 2018, was attended by industry colleagues including Fred Amugi, Gloria Sarfo, Prince David Osei, Grace Omaboe and Louis Saah. But more surprising was the very low turnout at the funeral of the veteran actor. This was brought to bare by actress Gloria Sarfo as she took to Instagram to express shock at the woefully low turnout at the funeral grounds when she arrived there to pay her last respect to the veteran.
Mac Jordan Amartey played a major role in helping build Ghana’s movie industry to the level it got to and has stared in so many movies and series alike. He is particularly remembered for his role in the TV Series ‘Idikoko’ amongst other great theatre productions.
Complements from colleagues included those from Oscar Provencal of the Inspector Bediako fame who described the late actor as a “real gem”, and Prince Osei who also said that his fond memories about Mac Jordan Amartey was his unique character.
The late Mac Jordan Amartey is survived by a wife and four children.
