Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) chairman Kudjoe Fianoo has mentioned that it has been very difficult for him since he became chairman of the welfare body.
Majority of club administrators have called on Mr Fianoo to resign from his position as chairman of GHALCA. According to them he failed to render an account since he was given the mandate. Majority are of the view that, he has embezzled the association’s money.
However, Mr Fianoo has responded to all the allegations levelled against him by the association members. He noted that this has been the most difficult times in the history of GHALCA, in the sense that he came into office in 2016 but unfortunately number 12 exposé was shown and football came to a halt for over 18 months.
He further explained that, the Association’s source of funding depends on player transfer but the exposé and Covid-19 has made things difficult.
“When we were able to find out our feet then this covic 19 has also shown up so it been very difficult but we have learnt a lesson from it how to navigate that curve and let’s wait for congress and we talk about the future” he said.
”Remember the very first month i came to office, we were told they will reduce the money given to us because the executive committee at that time thought they were coming out with a programme and GHALACA should also contribute. Without meeting us they took certain decisions which was implemented, so we have to go to the then former GFA president to explain to him that money given to us is used to manage the affairs of the Association” he added.
”No firm decision was taken as to whether the money should be given to us. So I can say that this our period has been very difficult for us because over 18 months we haven’t played football meaning we can not also play our fund raising activities like G8 or top 4 tournaments.
We managed to squeezed out of president cup but it not be that valuable”
