The president of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been asked to go on self-isolation for 14 days upon the advice of medical experts as a precautionary measure due to the novel COVID-19.
The announcement was made yesterday by the Information Ministry signed by Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah Esq. However, the president will be working from the Presidential Villa at the Jubilee House in Accra.
This decision has generated a lot of rumours that the first gentleman of the land has tested positive for the dreaded coronavirus and preparations are underway for Nana Akufo-Addo to be flown out of the country to receive treatment in the UK as reported by the Herald Newspaper.
According to the Director of Communications at the presidency, Eugene Arhin, the publication by the Herald is false and a figment of the author’s imagination which should be disregarded.
In a throwback video available on social media, the president was speaking at a conference where he remarked that we are all in the hands of the Lord so those whose political fortunes depend on his ill health should hold on till God takes a decision.
“Those whose political fortunes depend on my ill-health and degeneration, all I can say is that, we’re all in the hands of the Lord.” he said.
