Two Canadian girls who were kidnapped in Kumasi rescued by National Security

According to a press release, the two abducted Canadian nationals have been rescued by a national security team. The team carried out the operation in the early hours of today 12th June, 2019.

The two Canadian girls, 19 and 20, were rescued from their captors after a successful raid.

The press statement signed by Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah reads; “National Security operatives in the early hours of Wednesday 12 June, 2019, completed an operation which successfully rescued the 2 Canadian women recently abducted in the Ashanti Region”.

Societywatch.net reported last week about the kidnapping of two Canadian ladies just as they stepped out of their apartments at Silver Spring Avenue around 8pm last Monday night.

The two Canadians are on an exchange program with the Entrepreneurship Department of the Kumasi Technical University (KsTU); there’re also working as part of a volunteer group in Ghana.
