The name of the Upper East Regional Education Service, has been cited in Number 389, 390, 391 of the defunct DKM Customers list of the Bolgatanga Branch, that was released on the 4th of August 2020 for payment.
On July 17, 2020 a letter from the receiver, addressed to the Governor of BoG, which made this known, asked for close to Ghc 1.6 billion to settle the claims of the depositors of the resolved Microfinance Companies, savings and loans companies, finance houses and DKM Microfinance.
However, it is still unknown why an institution such as Education service in the region invested money in DKM without dealing with government reorganized banking institutions.
Per the list pasted across GCB, in Bolgatanga, Suyani and some other areas, payments are supposed to start 5th August 2020. But unfortunately, nothing is happening in all the branches of GCB as the time of filing this story
The challenges with DKM financial services happened under the previous National Democratic Congress (NDC). Customers at the time lost part of their investments following a suspension of the company’s operations by the Bank of Ghana in 2015.
