Veteran sound engineer, Zapp Mallet has attacked self-acclaimed dancehall king, Shatta Wale after his action caused chaos at the VGMA dome during the awards night last Saturday.
It all began when Stonebwoy was announced as the ‘Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year’ and was about receiving his award. Shatta Wale and his boys began moving towards the stage.
Just as he approached towards the stage, Stonebwoy’s entourage and Shatta Wale’s team began exchanging blows. Stonebwoy, unsure of what would happen, pulled out a gun on stage during the chaos.
Reacting to issues during a telephone interview with RazzNews.com, Zapp Mallet attacked Shatta Wale for his conduct by saying; “it’s a sad day for Ghana music…Shatta’s conduct was very appalling …why was he going on the stage? Some people think awards belongs to them… Kumi Guitar and Dada Hafco should’ve all stormed the stage when Shatta won the Highlife song of the year “.
The obviously angry Zapp Mallet pointed out that “One person can not win all the awards…you will win and lose some, that’s how it goes”.
