Mr. Sammy Gyamfi, National Communications Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has labeled deputy Minister of Information, Pius Enam Hadzide as a corrupt person.
The two politicians were pundits on GHOne TV’s political talk show; ‘State of Affairs’, where Sammy did not take lightly the tag from Pius that the NDC is a corrupt party.
The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was the Special Guest of Honor at the Ghana Bar Association’s General conference which was held in Takoradi, Western Region.
During his speech, he stated categorically that he cannot be tagged as a corrupt person because some appointees in his government have been caught in corrupt acts. He rather described the NDC as synonymous to corruption.
Meanwhile, speaking to the issue on the State of Affairs Show, Sammy Gyamfi recounted how Pius was fingered in a visa racketeering scandal which hit Ghana during the 2018 Olympics.
Pius Enam Hadzide led a team from Ghana to Australia for the event. It was discovered by the Australian authorities that 60 Ghanaians who were posing as journalists were actually not journalists.
Pius at the time was the deputy Minister for Youth and Sports; and was indicted by his boss Isaac Asiamah, as the one responsible for that corrupt act. Hence he does not have the moral right to speak about corruption.
