“Astalavista” hitmaker Wendy Shay has finally spoken after a picture of her showing her “vajayjay” to the audience during the Miss Ghana 2018 pageant final last weekend surfaced online.
In the picture which looks a bit “disgusting”, Wendy was seen opening her legs wide in a squat whilst backing the audience. Well, that moment was captured by one photo journalist who was present at the event and it didn’t take long before the picture went viral. And as usual, Ghanaians who are always on the standby to deliver trolls from all angles indeed didn’t disappoint.
However, in a bid to clear her name from all the mess, she has come out to claim that the picture is actually a photoshop and not her real “vagina” as is being portrayed.
In a Facebook post, she quizzed why some people would hide behind the internet to dent her image while she is trying to showcase her God given talent to the good people of Ghana. She also asked that people who want to put womanhood to ridicule by all means should put a stop to it, especially her fellow women.
She wrote “My passion is entertainment and I am thankful for my God given talent of being able to sing. It’s quite unfortunate that in my quest to show it people who want to belittle what I can do hide behind the internet, as they project lame and shameful images which have nothing to do with me. Hiding behind the internet and sharing photoshopped images of me will not bring me down. I am here to show my talent to the world and the evil plans you have in mind will not pull me down. When will these acts stop, are women supposed to be a laughing stock whenever they want to achieve something useful in life? And fellow women also joining in such acts, will you be happy if I were your sister or relative? Support your own but you rather prefer to pull your own down. Feminism isn’t about making women stronger. Women are already strong. It’s about changing the way the world perceives that strength.
