The mortal remains of the late Kwesi Wilson a.k.a Willi Roi, Head of Zylofon Arts Club and legendary record producer will be laid to rest on the 30th of March, 2019 in Tema, according to his family.
This was made known at the observation of one week after his death which took place today at his family residence in Tema, Community 7.
Colleagues, family and friends of the late Willi were present at the One week celebration venue to mourn with the family.
Some colleagues who were present include Head of Communication for Zylofon Media, Sammy Flex, Producer Arnold Elevanyo, Randy Abbey, Bessa Simon, Donzy, Hiplife artiste D-Cryme rapper Odadie Opanka, guitarist Ackah Blay, Atongo of “In heaven, there is no bear” fame amongst others.
Also present were members of the Shatta Movement, a movement he fought to defend during his life. The fanbase showed up to mourn one of their “top” members and even performed their own rendition of Shatta Wale’s jam song “Cultural Anthem”. He was also a known critic of afro-dancehall musician Stonebwoy since he joined Zylofon Music and even blocked a collaboration deal between 2 top American singers including R Kelly and Stonebwoy.
Willi Roi died in his apartment at the Royal Richester Hotel at East Legon, Accra on Sunday, February 10, 2019.
