Ghanaian rapper and CEO of Mad Time Records, Kwaw Kesse has mouth lashed his colleagues for sponsoring their fans to vote for them during the VGMAs.
Speaking to Fiifi Pratt on Highlife paradise on Rainbow Radio 87.5, Kwaw Kese said that artistes should allow their fans to vote out of will rather than sponsor them to vote. He believes that artistes should put an end to the habit of buying credit for their fans to vote for them.
Explaining himself, the ‘Dondo’ singer stated that it will be senseless for him to sponsor a fan to vote during an award show. ‘All the awards in Ghana are of no value they are just plaques’, he suggested.
He went ahead to further advice upcoming artistes to concentrate on their careers rather than depend on awards to stay relevant. He bemoaned the habit of using awards to evaluate musicians.
Kwaw Kese added that the fact that a musician does not win an award does make him a bad artiste. Advising his colleagues, he said they should not place much value on the plaques presented to them during award ceremonies; they have no value.
